Be Extra Careful With Wet Hair

Wet hair is more elastic than dry hair, but that also leaves it more prone to breakage. For that reason, you must be extra careful when manipulating wet hair.

When the hair has been wet or shampooed, the physical bonds in the hair are broken. Although the bonds reform as the hair dries, trying to manipulate the hair too much while wet can result in the bonds not being able to reform and serious damage to the hair.

Can you still wet style your hair? Absolutely! But be careful when choosing your combs and brushes for manipulating the hair. Be sure the teeth on your combs are wide enough for the density (thickness) of your hair and that any brush you use can be for detangling wet hair.  If you’re not sure if your brushes and combs are up to par, ask your stylist.
